X-TRA - Safety Is No Accident. X-tra is a compact, light weight and hassle free solution used for a low-on-air or out-of-air emergency. Divers do not plan to run out of air, but accidents do happen. There is conclusive published data showing that out-of-air emergencies have contributed to injury and scuba diving fatalities.

Most recreational divers want equipment that is simple, yet rugged and reliable.X-tra is designed to automatically fill or top off at the beginning of each dive. You do not have to dispatch it, remember to fill it or turn it on. X-tra's first stage regulator threads into it's own cylinder providing a low profile, light weight pony bottle alternative. No need to purchase additional regulators since you utilize your existing octopus as the back up regulator.

As an added benefit, X-tra can be used to provide additional buoyancy when it is connected to your power inflator or alternate air source to assist in a safe ascent or inflation at surface. Think of X-tra like insurance: it is there when you need to safely make it to the surface. The unique and patented one-way valve design insures that the X-tra system is automatically filled of topped off through a high pressure transfer hose attached to the first stage regulator. If during the dive the main cylinder is emptied or the main regulators fail, X-tra's one-way valve maintains it's air supply for a safe ascent.

X-tra is available in 6, or 13 cu.ft. size cylinders allowing a diver to choose his own level of safety. The 6 cu.ft. system (X-100) offers approximately 100 breaths at surface and is recommended for safe ascents from 100 feet or less. The 13 cu.ft. systems are recommended from depths of 132 feet or less. The X-tra system and it's specially designed mount attaches to the BDC strap around the main cylinder making tank changes quick and easy.

If the safe second or octopus regulator is used by a second diver in an emergency situation, both divers can breath down the entire main air supply due to the transfer line.An ideal configuration for the X-tra system is the attachment to an integrated safe second regulator/power inflator thus eliminating one hose. For use with some rig configurations an additional high pressure port is provided for the main tank high pressure gauge, console or air integrated computer transmitter. X-tra has its own pin air pressure gage and a hand-tightened disconnect on the high pressure transfer line at the divers first stage regulator for convenient assembly, disassembly and packing of the system. The X-tra system is mounted with the X-tra mount beside the main tank on the divers back making it low profile and out of the way. The X-tra mount is included with the system or sold separately.
